KC's Clones Trainer Apprenticeship Program
T.A.P. into your potential!!!

Mission Statement:
To aid motivated individuals in getting hands on experience training horses, while transforming good
horses into better horses for the purpose of finding them suitable homes.

So you think you would like to train horses?  Would you like to have hands on professional
instruction while gaining valuable experience?  Are you honest, self-motivated & hard
working?  Would you like to have the potential to make money for your time & effort?
Would you like to aid in re-homing horses that otherwise may not have a fair chance?  Then
KC’s Clones Trainer Apprenticeship Program may be right for you!!

If you have aspirations of becoming a horse trainer or you would just like to improve your
horsemanship skills to make working with your own horses safer & more gratifying, then
KC's Clones trainer apprenticeship program could be for you!
This is a unique opportunity to get professional instruction while getting many hours of
hands-on experience working with many different horses at various stages of training.
Since we want every horse in the barn to be the best one, we emphasize cross training here
at KC's "tReining" Center and a key ingredient to that formula is a broad, solid foundation.
You will gain valuable experience in  many areas including, but not limited to:  round
penning, longing, long-lining, driving, sacking out, hobbling, obstacles and extensive arena
& trail work.  You will not officially be paid for your time but you will come away with
priceless experience and insights you might not otherwise gain.  Depending on the amount
of time you can devote to the program, you might qualify for KC's Clones Incentive
Program where you are assigned a project horse suitable to your skill level, a 6 month
minimum enrollment is required.  You will be responsible for training (or re-training) this
horse, under professional supervision.  This project animal will then be sold either by
private sale or at a special auction to the highest bidder.  You will then be awarded half of
the selling price for your participation.  Part of your duties include marketing this horse and
showing it to prospective buyers.  This will give you a personal interest in several key
aspects of the horse business.  This program is available only if a suitable project horse can
be obtained.  The horses enrolled in this program are donated by individuals who wish to see
their horse have a fair chance at being transformed into an honest citizen in the equine
society.  If you have a horse you might like to donate to this program, please contact us for
an application.  You must be pre-approved for participation in any of these programs.
Applicant criteria is listed below.

This an option for people to place their horse into a facility and program whose goal is to
educate both the horse and the human for the betterment of both.

This is not a get rich quick scheme, we are not going to retire on the proceeds from this
program!  The horse market is far too fragile to hope for something like that.  It is, however,
a unique opportunity for the right individuals to enrich their lives & for horse owners to
secure good homes for unwanted horses.

"Hi, I'm Crystal Burr, a 35 year old novice rider from Burton,
Ohio.  I work 40 hours a week, (retail hours) but try to ride 5
days a week, after work and on my days off.  I don't take many
lessons but I try to watch and listen and then apply what I
think might work with my horse.  I was given a chance to take
part in the KC's Clones Trainer Apprentice Program and I
jumped at the opportunity!  A chance to learn and work with
these wonderful animals that have been donated.  I am very
thankful to the people who have donated their friends to
allow me to work with and learn from them.  I want to complete
this program to gain more confidence and skill.  I am hoping
that with what I learn as a horsewoman I will be able to
compete in many diverse events and do well in them.  I want
to compete in reining, cowboy races, reined cow horse,
pleasure, barrel racing, and maybe even a little jumping.  In
the western events, I want to be very competitive locally, and
maybe some bigger shows.  Not win, but do well. I am grateful
for a chance to learn from so many different backgrounds."

"My name is Halle Pierce, I am 14 years old and
in the 9th grade.  I have been riding at KC's
"tReining" Center for basically my whole life.
Some of my goals for this summer are to take a
horse enrolled in the KC's Clones Trainer
Apprentice Program and prepare it for Western
& English Pleasure and maybe even the Green
Reiner class at a NRHA show.  I want to be able
to take a horse that I am unfamiliar with and be
able to ride it confidently.  I would like to say
thank you to the people who donated their
horses to the program, it is very much
appreciated!!"

"My name is Liz Cadorette and I live in Montville, OH.  I am
sixteen years old and am a junior in high school.  This will be
my third summer riding at KC's "tReining" Center.  In the
upcoming months I want to focus on getting the horses to
be comfortable in lots of different environments like trail
riding, showing, obstacle courses, and cow work.  I am also
looking forward to getting myself confident with some
not-so-confident horses in those situations.  My goal is to
start this summer with a skittish and green horse and to end
this fall with a confident and willing one and I know Casey
will show me how to do just that!  I also want to thank all the
people that donated their horses to this program.  Your
horse isn't the only one that is going to get some training!!"

but never had the chance until now, I recently moved
here from New York.  I am glad to have the opportunity
to work with horses and learn how to ride the right way.
I hope to become a good enough rider in the future to
one day compete in the Extreme Cowboy Race!"
